Add watermark to images

Add text watermarks in bulk; the font size scales with image width, so small and large images look alike.

Keep it from being cropped out

A watermark at the edge is easy to crop out. If that bothers you, pick the "Center" position or switch to tiling — tiling isn't offered here, since most people only need a corner mark.

When to use it

  • Before sending product photos, photography, or property listings to a client or posting them on a marketplace, you want a © handle or shop name so they can't be saved and reused as-is.
  • You have dozens of images that need the same corner mark, and the watermark should look the same size on an 800 px image and a 4000 px one.

When not to

  • You need real theft protection — a corner caption is easy to crop out or retouch; use a tiled watermark, low-resolution previews, or an invisible watermark.
  • The mark is a logo, QR code, or graphic — this tool only supports text; use a design app for image watermarks.
Limits and privacy

Watermarks are drawn in your browser; images are never uploaded. Limits: text only; six preset positions (four corners, bottom center, center) with no dragging or tiling; font size is a percentage of image width, so long text can run off the edge; PNG keeps transparency while other formats become JPG and lose EXIF; images are processed one at a time, so watch memory on a phone with many large photos.

Frequently asked

What font size and opacity look natural?

Font size is a percentage of image width, from 2% to 12%, with 5% as the default; that keeps the mark visually consistent across different image sizes. Opacity runs from 10% to 100%, default 55%. You can pick any color, and the text gets a semi-transparent black outline so it stays readable on light backgrounds.

Where should I put the watermark so it can't be cropped out?

Edge positions (four corners, bottom center) are the easiest to crop away; choose Center if that matters. The tool offers six presets from a 3×3 grid — top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right, bottom center, and center — with no drag positioning and no tiling.

Does batch watermarking reduce image quality?

PNG input produces PNG output with no pixel loss; every other format is exported as JPG at quality 0.92, so it's compressed once more, and repeated watermarking accumulates loss. Always start from the original, not from an already-watermarked copy. EXIF is not preserved.
