How to Keep or Delete Pages from a PDF
To keep only the pages you need, or remove the ones you do not, open the Extract Pages tool, enter ranges such as 1-3,5,8, choose keep or delete, and download extracted.pdf. The original file is untouched and the work happens in your browser.
When page selection is the right job
A long bid only needs its pricing page, a couple of qualification pages and the signature page. Sending the whole file exposes internal material and makes the recipient dig through it. Keep mode produces one clean PDF without printing and rescanning.
Downloaded reports often carry an ad page at the front and an appendix at the back; internal pricing or notes may need to come out before a file goes to a client; scans pick up blank pages. All of these are whole-page decisions, which is exactly what this tool handles.
- Submit only the required pages and the signature page of a bid.
- Remove ad pages and appendices from a downloaded report.
- Drop pages with internal notes before sending a file out.
- Clean blank pages out of a scan.
Ranges and output rules
Pages count from 1. Separate single pages and ranges with commas, for example 1-3,5,8. Keep mode outputs pages in ascending order, so 8,2 still gives pages 2 and 8 — it cannot reorder. Duplicate page numbers are counted once, pages past the end are ignored, and if nothing remains the operation is cancelled.
Only one new file is produced. For several outputs, use Split. To reorder pages, split and merge. Bookmarks, outlines, form fields and digital signatures are not preserved, and deleting even one page invalidates an existing signature. Encrypted PDFs cannot be read. The tool removes whole pages only; it cannot black out or hide a paragraph inside a page. For real redaction, use a tool with true redaction support.
- Keep mode is ascending only; it cannot reorder.
- Duplicate pages count once; out-of-range pages are ignored.
- Deleting a page breaks signatures and drops forms and bookmarks.
- Sensitive text inside a page needs redaction, not page deletion.
When not to use it
To break one PDF into several files, use Split; this tool always produces a single PDF. To reorder pages, such as moving the signature page to the front, keep mode cannot help — split and merge instead. If bookmarks, forms or signatures must survive, go back to Acrobat or whichever app created the file.
If the goal is to hide an account number or price inside a page, deleting the page loses everything else, and covering it with a white box is not redaction either — the text is still in the file. Use a tool with real redaction. Processing is local, the PDF is not uploaded, and closing the page clears the data.
- Several outputs: use Split.
- Reordering: split, then merge.
- Bookmarks, forms or signatures: use the original app.
- In-page redaction: use a redaction tool, not page deletion.
FAQ
How do I keep only certain pages of a PDF?
Choose keep, enter the pages such as 1-3,5,8, and the new file will contain only those pages in ascending order. Duplicate page numbers count once, and pages beyond the end are ignored.
Does deleting pages invalidate an existing signature?
Yes. The new file is rebuilt by copying pages, so the digital signature, form fields and bookmarks are all lost. Any change to a signed PDF breaks its signature; handle it in the original app and sign again if the signature must remain valid.
Can I get deleted pages back, and does the original change?
The original is never modified. The tool only downloads a new extracted.pdf, so you can upload the original again and start over. Closing the page also clears the temporary data in the browser.
