Strip Accents

Turn accented Latin letters into their base forms, so café becomes cafe. Useful for tidying foreign names, search keywords, or importing text into systems that do not handle accents.

How to use
  • Only accents on Latin letters are handled; Chinese characters, kana, and other scripts stay as they are.
  • The spelling may no longer match the standard form in the original language, so verify it for official use.

FAQ

Do Chinese and Japanese change?

No. The tool targets accented Latin letters, so Chinese, Japanese, and other scripts stay unchanged. Mixed text can be processed directly; just review the result afterwards.

Can the accents be restored?

Not automatically, because the accent information is lost during conversion. Keep the original; if the result is only for search or import, save it separately instead of overwriting the source file.
