Add List Bullets
Turn a block of meeting notes, to-dos, or feature bullets into a Markdown list without typing a dash at the start of every line. Blank lines stay blank, so paragraph breaks survive the change.
How to use
- Paste the list into the box, one item per line, keeping blank lines where they are.
- Every non-empty line gets a “- ” prefix; blank lines are left alone.
- Press Copy result and paste into a README, Notion, or Obsidian to render it as a list.
FAQ
Why a dash instead of an asterisk?
A dash is recognised as a bullet by Markdown, GitHub, Notion, and Obsidian just like an asterisk, but it can't be confused with the asterisks used for bold and italic. Lines that already start with a dash become double-dashed, so strip existing markers first.
Do blank lines get a bullet too?
No. Blank lines stay blank and the rendered list remains one block. If you want them turned into items as well, remove the blank lines first and run it again.
