ROT13 Converter

Shift every Latin letter 13 places through the alphabet, keeping case and leaving everything else untouched. ROT13 is symmetric, so the same action encodes and decodes; it is commonly used to hide spoilers, answers, or hints. It has no key, so it does not protect anything private.

How to use
  • Paste English text in the box.
  • Every A–Z and a–z letter moves 13 places through the alphabet; case is preserved.
  • Run the same conversion again to get the original text back.

FAQ

Why is encoding the same as decoding?

ROT13 moves a letter 13 places, and doing it twice moves it 26 places, which is back to the original letter.

Do Chinese characters or digits change?

No. Only A–Z and a–z are touched; Chinese, Japanese, digits, and punctuation stay as they are.

Can I use it to protect a password?

No. ROT13 has no key, so anyone can reverse it the same way. It only hides text from a casual glance.
