Remove Tabs
Copying a column out of Excel often drags a trailing tab along, which a single-line form field reads as a column break. This deletes tabs outright instead of padding them with spaces.
How to use
- Paste the text containing tabs into the box.
- Every tab is deleted, so the text on either side joins up; ordinary spaces are untouched.
- Press Copy result and paste into the single-line field — it should no longer split into columns.
FAQ
Why did two pieces of text merge into one word?
Deleting the tab removes the only separator, so “Name” + tab + “Jane” becomes “NameJane”. Use the tabs-to-spaces tool instead when you need the gap kept.
Does it remove spaces and other invisible characters too?
No. Only the tab character (U+0009) is matched; ASCII spaces, full-width spaces, and other whitespace are left alone, so indentation spaces survive.
