Random Password Generator

Generate a random password of a chosen length in your browser. The default is 16 characters, symbols are optional, and easily confused characters such as 0, O, 1, l, and I are left out by default. Values come from the browser's cryptographic random generator, and no network request is needed.

How to use
  • Set the length, from 6 to 64 characters; the default is 16.
  • Tick the symbol option if the site or app accepts symbols; otherwise you get letters and digits only.
  • Generate, then save the result in a password manager rather than a chat or a sticky note.

FAQ

Is the generated password uploaded?

No. Generation happens locally in the browser, and the page does not need to send a request for it.

Why are 0 and 1 missing?

The default character set excludes easily confused pairs such as 0/O and 1/l/I, which makes the password easier to copy by hand or read aloud.

Is the result strong enough?

The randomness comes from the browser's cryptographic generator, but strength also depends on length and on not reusing it. Use a password manager for important accounts.
