FAQ
Why is an hour 60 minutes?
It's the definition of the unit: 1 hour = 60 minutes = 3600 seconds, accepted for use with the SI. This tool multiplies by 60 with no rounding, so 1.5 hours shows 90 minutes and 0.25 hours shows 15 minutes.
How many minutes is 0.75 hours?
0.75 × 60 = 45 minutes. To do it in your head, multiply the decimal hours by 60: 0.1 hour is 6 minutes, 0.25 is 15, and 0.5 is 30. Going the other way, divide minutes by 60, so 100 minutes is about 1.67 hours.
