Hex Encoder

Convert text into a space-separated hex byte string using its UTF-8 bytes, two lowercase digits per byte. Useful for spotting invisible characters, checking protocol fields, and comparing two strings byte by byte. Text only — use a command-line tool for binary files.

How to use
  • Paste or type text in the box; the result updates as you type.
  • Each UTF-8 byte is written as two lowercase hex digits, separated by spaces.
  • Use Copy result to move the hex string into a protocol doc, a log, or a test case.

FAQ

How many bytes does a Chinese character or an emoji take?

In UTF-8 a common Chinese character takes 3 bytes and most emoji take 4, so the byte count is usually larger than the character count.

Can I remove the spaces?

Yes, they are only separators and every two digits still map to one byte. Keeping them makes long output easier to read.

Is this encryption?

No. Hex is just another way to write bytes, and anyone can convert it back.
