One inch is exactly 2.54 cm, as defined by the 1959 international yard and pound agreement — a definition, not a measurement. This tool therefore multiplies by 0.3937007874 (1 ÷ 2.54), so 100 cm reads 39.370079 inch. Approximations such as 0.3937 start to differ from the fifth decimal place.
Why do the decimal places vary between results?
Values below 1000 keep six decimals with trailing zeros removed, while values of 1000 or more keep two. So 30 cm shows 11.811024 inch but 3000 cm shows 1181.1 inch. Round the copied result further if you need a fixed number of places.
