Chinese Numeral Converter
Convert numbers to and from Chinese numeral characters (yi, wan, qian) — useful for invoices and formal documents.
How to use
- Enter a whole number, such as 1200.
- The result joins each digit with its place name, so 1200 becomes 一千二百.
- Zeros are skipped rather than replaced with 零, so 105 comes out as 一百五; check formal copy by hand.
FAQ
Why is 零 not inserted?
The tool maps each digit to its place name without modelling Chinese reading grammar. Numbers with internal zeros, such as 105 or 1008, come out one 零 short and need a manual fix before use in formal text.
Does it support formal financial numerals?
No. Financial forms such as 壹 and 贰 are not produced; the output is plain lowercase Chinese numerals only.
Can it read decimals or very large numbers?
Neither. Any fractional part is truncated, and beyond nine digits (past 亿) the place names start to misalign, so split the number first.
