Binary Decoder
Turn binary digits into UTF-8 text, one 8-bit group per byte. Handy for recovering the original text from teaching examples, protocol docs, or bit-level notes. Groups that are not 8 bits long, misaligned groups, or characters other than 0 and 1 will produce unexpected output.
How to use
- Paste binary digits separated by spaces or line breaks.
- Each group of 8 bits is read as one byte.
- The bytes are decoded as UTF-8. If the result looks shifted or shows , check that every group has 8 bits.
FAQ
Does every group have to be 8 bits?
Yes. The tool reads 8 bits at a time, so a short or extra digit shifts every following byte.
Can it recover Chinese text?
Yes, as long as the original bytes were UTF-8. If the source used another encoding, will appear.
Can I include characters other than 0 and 1?
No. A group containing anything else is parsed into an invalid value and the output will not be what you expect.
