Choose Contrast That Passes and Looks Right
Added 2026-11-01
Meet the readability threshold first, then find a better-looking shade in the same hue.
I am building an interface with a given primary colour, on both light and dark backgrounds. Do: 1) state the contrast requirements for body text, secondary text and button labels under WCAG; 2) estimate the contrast of each current pairing and mark pass or fail; 3) suggest deeper shades in the same hue for the failures, keeping the brand feel; 4) identify the component most likely to break in dark mode; 5) give a way to verify without memorising numbers.

How to use
对比度先过线,再谈好看;顺序反了就白做。
Try tweaking it
- Swap style words for measurable parameters: light, lens, material, composition.
- Ask for three variants of one prompt, then compare the differences.
What you should get
- A parameter sheet you can act on (light, lens, material, framing)
- Two or three alternatives with trade-offs
Common mistakes
- Stacking words like "premium, cinematic, 8K" — no two results match.
- Asking for a real brand or celebrity look and getting something close but unusable.
How to check the output
- Parameters are executable — ready to use in a tool or hand to a designer.
- It explains the trade-offs, not just the final look.
Where it works
- Good for: breaking vague "premium feel" into concrete light, material, lens and composition parameters.
- Watch out: for real brands, celebrities or third-party work, use equivalent descriptions to avoid infringement.
